We set out to create a brand that feels nostalgic but at the same time current and ethereal. Our inspiration comes from everything from underground subcultures, music, early 00’s magazines. It’s always evolving as we grow as a brand as well as a community.
The name ‘Basic Pleasure Mode’ was inspired by the cult sci fi movie Blade Runner. In the movie there are androids called Replicants one of them being ‘the basic pleasure model’ We love the idea that we begin life as an empty canvas, devoid of factory settings.
